How can you NOT like a book about the 56th Fighter Group?

This book takes the form of a combat diary; not too bad, even if it is overdone. It is hard not to take that form when telling the history of a military unit.

There are a nice selection of photos of the planes, although most are on the ground. Good stuff for those who liketo see the differences between the P-47 subtypes. Some god photos of the pilots, although more would have been nice. Decent color section, although a bit dated by the standards set by Tom Tullis and Claes Sundin recently.

My biggest gript with this book is the absolutely abysmal editing in this book. There are so may errors of punctuation and sentence structure that it really does hinder a reading of the book. "D�mmer Lake" (or D�mmersee, if you prefer) was represented as "Drummer Lake" enough times that it was obvious the author did it on purpose.

It is a good addition to a collection of the 56th, along with some personal books by Zemke and Gabreski, and the fabulous books on the P-47 by Bodie and Freeman.

loved the book throughout. Perhaps the better presentation of this remarkable airplane. I thought the writer knew his subject and was unbiased
in his evaluations. The mission by mission account shows the airplane to be much more than those who think the P-51 won the war!

About the Author
Irving B. Weiner, PhD, is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and behavioral Medicine at the University of South Florida and former Director of Psychological Services at the University of South Florida Psychiatry Center in Tampa, Florida. He resides in Tampa and is in the practice os clinical and forensic psychology.
Dr. Weiner received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Michigan in 1959. His position since that time have included Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics and Head of the Division of Psychology at the University of Rochester Medical Center; Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology at Case Western reserve University; and Vice-President and Chief Academic Officer at the University of Denver and at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and of the Association for Psychological Science, a Diplomat of the American board of Professional Psycho9logy in both Clinical and Forensic Psychology, and a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida. He is president-elect of the Society of Clinical Psychology (APA Division 12), Past President of the International Rorschach Society, current President of the Society for Personality Assessment Distinguished Contribution Award. He served as editor of the Journal of Personality Assessment from 1985 to 1993 and as editor of Rorschachiana: Yearbook of the International Rorschach Society from 1990 to 1996. Roger L. Greene is a professor at Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto, California, where he served as Director of Clinical Training for twelve years. Dr. Greene has worked in a variety of clinical settings and with different types of patients in his clinical career. His particular area of interest clinically is the assessment and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse. He has written a number of texts and articles on the use of the MMPI-2. His most recent book, The MMPI-2: An Interpretive Manual (2nd ed.) was published in 2000. His books on the MMPI/MMPI-2 have been among the standard references for over two decades. He is�a Fellow of Division 12of APA and the Society for Personality Assessment. Academic mediocrity

With so much choice when it comes to reference manuals on Personality, I was very dissappointed with this one. Dry and uninteresting, there is not much more information than is readily available from manuals (which appear to be the primary source)and there are few new insights or helpful guides to practitioners. As a psychologist who qualified in the 80's I was expecting so much more from the investment. Robert Hogan's book on Personality and the Fate of Organisations, for example, at a fraction of the price and excellent value in each chapter.

As a PsyD student, I am currently at a diagnostic practicum site where personality assessments are frequently administered. This book is my go to when interpreting almost all sef-report measures. It is so useful to have all the information in a single book.

How can you take such an interesting subject and make it not only boring but largely unreadable? You would be better off doing online research and getting the manual for the tests and studying them. Of course, this was a required text for my class so I have to read it and I suspect you will too.

Great ending from an amazing series

Like the first two books in the series, I loved this one too. It was full of action, conflict, revelations, and sadness. Unlike the first two books, this one was written in alternating POVs between Eviana and Kain, which made me very happy because I get to see how Kain views things. *love*

Still rooting for Kain and finding out that he has always loved Eviana even after she left him at the altar and he eventually started dating Carissa, made me love him more. I like Graham too, I like him more than Brendan I guess, but he's one of the bad guys! I guess he's a guy I like to hate..?

This book is where all the action is. All creatures mentioned in the whole series are in this and it is a war that ends in victory. I'm not sure if I liked how things ended up, it felt like there was no other choice but she did realize that it was him all along, right? I'll just be happy with how it ended. :)

I don't know what else to say or how to review this even further. I don't want to come out as just re-telling the story or giving a summary of it because that's not exactly a review. Can't I just say that I loved the whole series and I recommend it to everyone who loves merfolk stories?

AMAZING!!!

I loved the whole series, but Arise was by far my favorite book. The author does an amazing job of closing the series. Eviana has really grown up since Betrayal and comes into her own as a leader. The imagery provided was spectacular allowing me to completely immerse myself in the story. Twists and turns along the way and just when you think the story is predictable...not so much :) New characters combined with a few OMG moments kept me from putting this book down. LOVED IT!!! The only problem is...I totally want to more! :)

Beautiful ending

Let me begin by saying what a way to end a trilogy! What a touching, compelling novel!
I am truly addicted to these characters now. Amber Garr created such an amazing world, with such realistic, heartfelt characters

Eviana really seems doomed in this final installment nothing her and the group do seems to work against the great force of Lucian. Also many of their allies turn on them; it would seem their chances of winning were dwindling greatly. Will the good be able to overcome the evil or will Eviana be forced to marry Graham and do Lucian’s evil bidding forever?

So in this book Eviana has finally realized she has feelings for Kain, which is great! At least I think so, as you all know from my other reviews. I was absolutely dying for Eviana and Kain to get together. However the issue in this book is Lucian is still holding Eviana captive and Kain’s first attempt to rescue her falls through.

Kain and the council then gather the masses to create a new plan to help Eviana, unfortunately for Kain, Brendan becomes a part of this plan. Now in the second book I was very unhappy with Brendan but I have to say he redeemed himself in this final book. I won’t say how because I don’t want to give away too much. I loved the action in this book; there was definitely no shortage of it. I also really loved the plot. It was a very emotional and moving end to the wonderful series.

I seriously fell in love with the character’s Amber created and the way she tells a story.

The ending to this book was just magical. I couldn’t have pictured a better ending to this series. I definitely think Amber did a perfect job with all three novels. They are all amazing and I still think they should make these into movies 

I was beyond impressed with this book and Amber has a lifelong fan in me.

Not impressed

youch! what a price on this book! $42.75??? also, it seems more of a college textbook than light reading. I assumed a tv show like The Big Bang Theory would be included in these essays, and I wasn't even familiar with some of the tv shows, movies and books in this collection. I recommend you check the table of contents to make sure you know and are familiar with the tv shows, movies and books covered before you buy.

Then there's the conniving ex who seems determined to win Vincent back, a whole slew of family drama for both of them, and the list goes on. The obstacles in their way seem to grow by the minute.

And even if they could overcome those, Char may not be able to overcome her own insecurities, not to mention her intense dislike for Vincent's profession. Her father's gambling addiction destroyed their family, so for her to now get involved with someone who works at a casino…

Will Char be destined to be alone forever? Or can the handsome Native American she met by chance break through her walls and ease the loneliness in her life?

Jarillo Sunset by Constance Bretes is A Sizzling Read

When Char Johnson, a New Mexico realtor trying to make it to an appointment, has a flat tire, hunky Native American Vincent Carter, comes to her rescue. In exchange for changing the flat, he asks her to a friend’s wedding and sparks fly. Char is trying to hang on to her job at Stillwater Realty agency and she doesn’t have time for a bartender and bass player for a band at a casino. Her father is a gambling addict and she doesn’t want to date a man she thinks has a gambling problem. However, she can’t deny her strong attraction for this man, who is steady, reliable and devoted to his family. His ex-wife is trying to win him back and her colleagues at work are harassing her. To make matters worse, she is under suspicion for murder. I enjoyed this book a lot. It is a sizzling read.

This steamy romance will have you turning pages from the very first page. Not only is hero, Vincent Carter, a hot and hunky Native American, but he’s also a dedicated family man dealing with an ex-wife who’s trying to win him back. Real estate agent Char Johnson is dealing with her own problems - pressures at work and other complications that could soon put her out of a job. Added to that is Char’s painful childhood having to do with her father’s gambling addiction and the pressures this brings to her relationship with Vincent. So many complications before this couple gets their HEA! You won’t be disappointed.

Loved The Characters

This story involved great tension and conflict. Between the issues with their jobs and Vincent's ex, there is plenty to keep you reading. I really enjoyed how the author stayed true to the hearts of her characters, and loved how committed Vincent was to his family. This was a sweet story, and I read it straight through in one sitting.

This is not the book you are lookng for...

If you are looking for a "Space Marine Battle Novel" full of grand strategic battles from the 40K universe broken down to the tactical level [like Battle Of The Fang] then you are looking in the wrong place. If you are looking for a book about the Legion of the Damned (as I was), this is NOT the book for you (only about 20 of the 411 pages mention the Legion). However if you want a book about an ashamed and emotionally conflicted marine who has a serious homo-erotic masochistic streak and spends a huge portion of the novel being punished and whipped by an apparently well-built young man while seeing ghostly apparitions, and NOT seeing much combat, then this IS the book for you. But in this Space Marine fan's opinion this novel was a big disappointment (although I liked the brief Sisters of Battle action/background scenes).

Should have been called "Exoriators"

This book was barely about Legion of the Damned. They are barely in the book at all. It was cool when they showed up but expected the book to be about them - it isn't. The title is very misleading. If you want to read about the Space Marine Chapter of Exoriators it is a good book. Felt like a waste of money and time to me.

Where's the Freaking Legion???

This is the most disappointed I've ever been with a Space Marines Battles novel. You would kind of think that a novel that was named the Legion of the damned would have more than a few pages of them. You start off the novel on a planet that's been pretty much decimated. The Inquisition and Excoriators envoy are hunting for survivors. A Space Marine is found, but they don't tell you who it is. Suddenly the book starts another chapter focusing on a fallen Excoriator hero.

What's going on here? Is this the future, the past, another planet in the present? No indication I see. Maybe I'm slow and missed something, but at this point I had no freaking idea what was going on. They kept talking about the scourge, but it took many pages for me to figure out that it was some sort of title of this fallen hero. I was so lost, that I almost quit reading the book about 100 pages in. It's not the book was particularly poorly written, it's that it involved a chapter which had nothing to do with the title of the novel. I couldn't figure out what was even going on until about 200 pages in when the main character gets sent to the planet talked about in the beginning. So I mean you already know how the novel is going to end after about five pages, if that bugs you then don't buy this book, but that style doesn't bother me as long as I know that's what's happening.

So anyway, you go through the whole rest of the story trying to figure out what is actually going to happen and why the hero is seeing visions. Then you get to the very end and quite unsatisfactory appearance from the Legion. I mean what the heck? If you're going to name this book The Excoriators Get Their Rears Handed To Them, well then great, but this feels like they just used the Legion as a cheap ploy to sell more books. As it is, it's more disappointing than how The Purging of Kadillus squandered a rare use of Necrons, though it's still arguably a better written book than that one.

If you're picking only a few Space Marines battles books I'd highly suggest Rynn's World or Battle of the Fang as far superior specimens.
