Struck by more than a Lord

Cecilia really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat! Such is her talent in real life I expect.

Karina has rushed home from London to see about her mom, and hold James at bay. James knows that he owes her an apology and some truth giving. Moving forward in an extreme relationship is not easy for these two, and because they are so explosively attracted to each other there is bound to be a large KABOOM.

Sit back and enjoy the whipping fast story telling in this third book, because if you blink it'll be over.

Struck by Lightning? You bet!

First I read the 1st of the trilogy, "Slow Surrender." It left me with such a question that I immediately started #2, "Slow Seduction." I was also questioning the final outcome when I finished this book in the middle of the night. Not having a physical copy of "Slow Satisfaction" at the time, I ordered it on my Kindle and started it right away. Now I have ordered multiple copies of both books from the author (She is my daughter.) directly to give as gifts to my friends, and I will give a set to the library at my subdivision. One of my friends felt the sex scenes were too much for her, but I did not find them too graphic. The story itself was lovely, and I found a clear sense of morality in the actions of the two main characters. I think you will enjoy this trilogy if you like romance novels no matter what your age. I am 73 and look forward to more of Cecilia Tan's books.

This was better written than I originally expected. The main male character was more than a little annoying at times, but overall I enjoyed the entire trilogy. The story was pretty consistent and engaging without dragging too much.

If this book included instructions on how to actually build the projects it discusses, it would be worth buying. As it is, there are only some vague guidelines and not-very-useful sketches. If you want to build any of these projects, you would in almost every case, be much better off using a search engine to find a page online that actually tells you how; It's free, and you're more likely to get detailed information.

The only reason I give this book more than 1 star is that there are at least a couple of projects that I haven't encountered online--so it seems to be at least somewhat original.

Increasing depth of understanding.

I have been a solar electric and solar hot water installer for 3 years. I can design and install a system with ease and confidence, but the projects in this book increased my understanding to a whole new level. It was like learning about solar from the inside out. I always enjoy it when I can learn about something I know well from a different angle. Some of my friends bought the book for themselves after thumbing through my copy. I recommend this book for anyone who likes to have a hands on approach to solar in many different areas.

Fun, but scant on details

I was disappointed in this book. It's hard to tell who the book is aimed at - an electronics buff or a middle school science teacher. There is almost enough information to complete many of the simpler projects, but not enough to tackle the more interesting ones. And some of the projects have no directions at all!

I would buy this book if I wanted to get inspired and play around with some simple projects, but if I were interested in constructing a photovoltaic system or a solar hot water heater, I would find another book. The book, Green Energy Projects for the Evil Genius, has more complete directions for more interesting solar projects that this book.

I found after doing just a few exercises, my immediate tension went away. After continuing for a couple weeks, I started going about life with less stress and avoiding several conflicts. Do yourself a favor and try out this book!

Very impressive, haunting play

This is an extremely good play. I wondered how someone constructs something that complex, with three or four or more intertwined stories, all being told at once. She did an excellent job with writing this play, and it felt "important."

The play is dark, and peers deep in the hearts of three totally different characters, 1) a pedophile serial killer, 2) a psychologist who researches serial killers, and 3) the mother of a victim

All of the characters are frozen, each in their own different way. This play brought out tons of different emotions in me. I'm still trying to piece together how I feel about it.

Two of the three characters changed way too fast toward the end, and it really didn't seem like a "quick unthaw" was the point of the play. Otherwise I would have given it five stars. But it really is very good.

Strange and Haunting

Overal, this play is really good. It's written in a poetic and experimental form that makes it hard to understand in the beginning, but pretty soon the pieces start to come together. The play looks into the mind of a serial killer. You get the view of the mother of the victim, and the view of the professional pyschologist, as well as the killer himself.. who kind of suffers from a handicap, prohibting to tell the difference between right and wrong, and feeling remorse. Upon finishing the book, I felt a better understanding of the murder. The cause and effect. The mind of the murderer.

For an actor, this play has a good selection of intense two person scenes, as well as some freaky monologs.

Lavery's best

This is a disturbing play. It draws upon human subtlety and the pain of silence and suffering in a way few other contemporary writers have. After seeing the prestigious Melbourne Theatre Company (Australia) perform this work in late 2003, with Australia's finest female actor Helen Morse in the role of Nancy and Frank Gallacher as Ralph, the striking calmness and profound destruction of such acts evoke the intended montage of cross sectional human decay and understanding.
(The cast also included Belinda Mcclory as Agnetha, Dan Quigley and Kevin Maxwell. Directed by Julian Meyrick. Performed at the Fairfax Studio, Victorian Arts Centre)
